YOUR AWARD-WINNING CLUB!

In an exciting coup for North Queensland, the Cowboys Leagues Club recently celebrated an incredible victory in March. For the third time, the Club received the Special Achievement Award for Responsible Gambling at the 2023 Clubs QLD Awards for Excellence, topping the podium against other community Clubs right across the state.

These prestigious awards aim to recognize excellence in Queensland’s club industry and took place with an audience of over 1000 guests attending the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for the official presentation ceremony. The victory follows the Club’s induction into the Clubs QLD Hall of Fame in 2021 for the Special Achievement Award for Responsible Service of Alcohol, after winning this award three years in a row. Both awards are judged and sponsored by the Queensland Government Office of Liquor & Gaming and recognise not only Club’s which are fully compliant in all responsible gambling & alcohol legislation, but those who go above and beyond to take care of their members & guests.

Cowboys Leagues Club General Manager, Clint Williams, was extremely honoured to be acknowledged as the state’s best.

“This award recognises a club that excels and demonstrates genuine care to its members and guests, creating a safe, supporting environment for gaming patrons, with superior responsible gaming initiatives.”

“Safety & compliance is a heavy focus of our Club to ensure we are meeting the expectations of our members & guests, and to be recognized as the best in the state reinforces our strong commitment to the North Queensland community,” Clint confirmed.

For Business Development Manager Helen Smyth, it is a great sign that the Cowboys Leagues Club remains at the forefront of hospitality & gaming venues not only in Townsville, but beyond.

“For a regional Club outside the south east metropolitan area to win this prestigious award, is an amazing achievement by our team, and something the entire North Queensland community can be extremely proud of.”

“Ultimately though, we simply wouldn’t have been able to do it without our longstanding members & guests and we are sincerely grateful for their unwavering support,” Helen stated.
