Cowboys Cafe named best in QLD

The Cowboys Leagues Club have celebrated another win off the field in 2017, and have recently been crowned champions as the Best Club Café in Queensland and a string of other accolades at the prestigious 2017 Clubs QLD Awards for Excellence.

The Clubs QLD Awards aim to recognize excellence in Queensland’s club industry, with over 1100 guests attending the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for the presentation ceremony. In an impressive achievement for a Club outside the metropolitan area, the Cowboys Leagues Club was a state finalist (Top 3 in QLD) for Best Club Diversification, Award for Outstanding Safety, Special Achievement Award for Responsible Gambling and Best UBET Wagering (TAB) Operation, in addition to taking out the prized gong of Best Club Café in the state.

General Manager Clint Williams was extremely proud of the Club’s accomplishments, and recognized the efforts of an entire team of hardworking staff as a major factor in the Club’s success.

“We pride ourselves on offering the best dining, entertainment and recreational venue in North Queensland and these awards provide great recognition for our staff and the job they do every day. Their goal is to always provide our members and guests with exceptional customer service and their passion for excellence really is something quite special. They truly are what sets us apart from other venues,” Clint confirmed.

The General Manager was also thrilled with the state finalist results.

“It is certainly a significant achievement for a Club outside the metropolitan area of Brisbane to be a state finalist in numerous award categories. It is a definitive recognition of the Club being a premier destination for dining & entertainment in North Queensland,” he stated.

Clubs Queensland Chief Executive Officer, Doug Flockhart, congratulated Cowboys Leagues Club on their award success.

“The Best Café/Coffee Shop category is a highly competitive award in which Clubs from across Queensland compete,” Mr Flockhart said.

“In order to win the support of the judging panel the Cowboys Leagues Club had to demonstrate they offered customers appealing ambiance, superior service, great value for money as well as an exciting array of treats and beverages,” Mr Flockhart revealed.

Anyone could presume that these accomplishments might lead the Club to sit back and reap the rewards of their recent successes, but for the Cowboys Leagues Club, it is only the beginning. The Club is currently planning to expand into neighbouring property, 305-311 Flinders Street, a huge 1210sqm property which the Club recently purchased. These renovations will allow the Club to provide even more facilities to members, with the expansion planned to include a new café & bar, amenities, additional gaming areas, and add a unique indoor/outdoor kids zone with adjacent dining area for parents.
