Cowboys are the People’s Choice

The Cowboys Leagues Club has been awarded the prestigious title of 2016 People’s Choice Best Restaurant in North Queensland at the recent QLD & NT Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence ceremony held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program that celebrates exceptional service and culinary talent across the state.

General Manager of the Cowboys Leagues Club, Clint Williams, was overwhelmed by the public’s support and online voting, which resulted in winning the People’s Choice major award.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management & Staff at the Club, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our loyal members & guests who have taken the time to vote for us. It is certainly an amazing achievement to not only be recognized by a national industry body, but to be recognized by the very people which we rely on to succeed,” Clint stated.

More than 550 local restaurants, cafes and catering businesses gathered to celebrate the achievements of their peers who were judged across 38 categories.

“Cowboys Leagues Club should be proud of their achievements. Running a hospitality business isn’t easy – there’s a lot of blood sweat and tears that goes into to making it work. But when you get the right mix of staff, produce and service, the results can be extraordinary,” Restaurant & Catering Association CEO John Hart commended.

For Executive Chef of the Cowboys Leagues Club, Thomas Martyn, the award was a direct reflection of his hard working team.

“Our entire team, from front of house to back of house, is passionate about providing an outstanding experience to all of our members & guests and it is extremely rewarding to discover we are meeting this goal. It is extremely humbling and we will continue to strive for excellence within the hospitality industry, always looking for new & unique was to delight our diners,” Tom stated.

After already being crowned Best Club in North Queensland earlier in the year, it would seem that the Cowboys Leagues Club is enjoying a healthy run of success both on and off the field in 2016.
